Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar issues orders attaching the SI to SP office after the death of Shivaprasad
Jagtial: A youngster, Shivaprasad, who made a suicide attempt allegedly upset over being manhandled by a woman Sub-Inspector, died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital.
Shivaprasad attempted to immolate himself by dousing himself with petrol at his resident on Sunday. Family members shifted him to a local hospital from where he was referred to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad.
His sister, Prshanthi, released a video from the hospital, alleging that her brother had attempted suicide after being manhandled by Korutla SI Swetha. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar issued orders by attaching the SI to SP office after the death of Shivaprasad.
A resident of Manchinillabavi of Jagtial, Shivarasad got married to Kavitha from Korutla town. The couple, who have two children, frequently quarreled with each other over the last few years.
Kavitha lodged a complaint against her husband with the Korutla police on September 19. On September 22, Shivaprasad was summoned to Korutla police station for counseling, where SI Swetha reportedly slapped and thrashed Shivaprasad.
Unable to bear the humiliation, Shivaprasad doused himself with petrol at his residence the same day and tried to immolate himself. Family members shifted him to a local hospital from where he was referred to Gandhi Hospital, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
