Karnataka: Muslim Cattle Trader Murdered Before Being Asked To Go To Pakistan, Cow Vigilante Puneet Kerehalli Among Suspects

In a shocking incident reported from Ramanagara district of Karnataka, a cattle trader was brutally murdered allegedly by cow vigilantes on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Idrees Pasha.

One of the prime suspects in the case has been identified as Puneet Kerehalli, who has been booked by police among others.

Tension Prevailed in Sathanur when family members of Idrees Pasha, who was transporting cattle was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.

Later, the family members protested with the dead body demanding action against cow vigilantes led by Puneet Kerehalli. Pasha’s family has alleged that Puneet had demanded Rs 2 lakh to release the victim or else he would kill him.

According to FIR, the cow vigilante group reportedly intercepted the Pasha’s vehicle with cattle. Even though Idrees Pasha said he had bought the cattle from the local market and had documents with him, Pasha was allegedly abused by Puneeth and asked to go to Pakistan. He later chased Pasha and assaulted him resulting in severe injuries to the victim. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Tension prevailed in the area for some time as family members of Idrees Pasha and locals gathered at the spot to stage protest.

Police reached the spot and pacified the agitated family members to handover the body for post-mortem.

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case of murder under IPC Sections 302, 341 (wrongful restrain) and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace).
