Hyderabad: BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and party working president KT Rama Rao condoled the demise of senior journalist and Telangana Journalists Federation (TJF) leader MD Muneer. He passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday night, after a prolonged battle against cancer.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao hailed Muneer as a committed voice for the working class and a prominent figure in the Telangana statehood movement. He remembered Muneer as a journalist who lived among the Singareni coal belt workers, highlighting their issues and giving them a powerful voice through his reporting.
He recalled Muneer’s significant role in reporting public sentiment, creating awareness and coordinating with all the stakeholders during the Telangana statehood agitation.
“His contribution, both as a journalist and TJF leader, will always be remembered,” he said. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
