Keanu Reeves crashes wedding in Northamptonshire and visits pub
A Northamptonshire couple were surprised at their wedding reception when actor Keanu Reeves made a cameo appearance.
The film star was staying at Fawsley Hall hotel when he spotted James and Nikki Roadnight’s party – and decided he fancied a piece of the action.
Voted by Time magazine as one of the world’s nicest men, few would ask the Matrix and Point Break actor to leave, and the happy couple were delighted he paid a visit.
Ms Roadnight told Newsweek that her new husband saw Mr Reeves at the hotel bar and asked if he would like to join in – to which the 57-year-old said he would.
“We didn’t know if he would or not but it was cool that my husband had spoken to him!” Ms Roadnight said.
An hour later, the bride was informed “a very special guest” was outside and would like to say hello. She was amazed to see the A-lister and offered him a drink, which was declined as Mr Reeves said he had just come off a long flight.
“He was so kind and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding,” she added.
It has not been clarified as to why Mr Reeves was in Northamptonshire – with upcoming film John Wick: Chapter 4 reportedly wrapped and in post-production. He has, however, signed on to reprise the role for a Chapter 5 – for which details are scarce.
But, while in Northamptonshire he has certainly made the most of the visit – also being snapped in The Fox and Hounds at Charwelton – around two miles from the hotel.
Pub manager Danny Ricks told the BBC that Reeves was “a lovely, down to earth guy” who was “really nice to everyone”.
“He stood and took photos with customers and staff… Just every nice thing you hear about him is true.”
He added that Mr Reeves ordered a Caesar salad and a falafel dish during his visit while he was seen with around six others and were discussing scripts at the table.
