Kishan Reddy not committed towards Telangana’s development, charges Revanth Reddy

Says it is due to the Union Minister’s obstruction that Metro Rail expansion has been stalled

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy charged that Union Minister G Kishan Reddy was not committed towards Telangana’s development and accused him of obstructing projects to the State.

It was due to Kishan Reddy’s obstruction that Metro Rail expansion has been stalled. When funds were being sought for Musi Riverfront development, the Union Minister was ridiculing, besides obstructing the project, the Chief Minister said at a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced approval for the 360-km Regional Ring Road (RRR). However, the project was not approved by the union cabinet till date. Though, tenders were floated for northern part of the RRR, dates were being extended as it was not approved by union cabinet, he said.

“Kishan Reddy should announce the details of any project, which he secured exclusively for Telangana in the last six years,” the Chief Minister demanded. Instead, semi conductors investments were being relocated to Gujarat, Assam, Uttar Pradesh by the BJP government, he slammed.

Countering the union Minister’s comments on whether Congress made promises to people after seeking permission from BJP leaders, the Chief Minister said “I am not subservant to any individual. Why should I seek permission from Kishan Reddy for Metro Rail approval,”

The Chief Minister came down heavily on the union government in disparity in tax devolution.

Telangana was getting only 42 paise for every rupee it was paying to Central government as taxes. On the contrary, Bihar was getting Rs.7.06 for every rupee it was paying and Uttar Pradesh was getting Rs.3, he pointed out.

On BJP opposing the caste census conducted in Telangana, citing minorities inclusion in BCs, the Chief Minister challenged Kishan Reddy to abolish the reservations being extended to minorities under BCs in the NDA ruled States, including Andhra Pradesh.

He also accused that the BJP had used Madiga community leader Manda Krishna Madiga for its political benefit but was not taking up SC sub classification.
Claims credit for Mamnoor airport clearance

The Chief Minister claimed that the union government had given clearance for Mamnoor airport following the Congress government’s repeated appeals and charged that the BRS government had not initiated any measures for approval.

“It was me, who sanctioned ORR for Warangal and land for Mamnoor airport. I had got the entire area surveyed by experts and submitted reports to the Centre. In the last 10 years, K Chandrashekhar Rao did nothing for Warangal,” he said.

“Did the BRS achieve Kazipet Coach Factory? I achieved that project,” Revanth Reddy claimed.

The Chief Minister also opposed the union government’s move to impose Hindi on Southern States. It is our responsibility to protect Telugu. The Congress had demanded that UPSC examination should be held in Telugu language, he maintained.

He also wanted the union Home Minister Amit Shah to disclose terms of reference for delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. The BJP was hatching a conspiracy to cut down the seats in Southern States and increase them in Bihar, Rajasthan and other Bhimaru States to be in power at the Centre, he charged.
