Hyderabad: After a successful theatrical run, Mad Square, the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster MAD, is now heading to OTT. The film, which released on March 28, received a mix of reviews but still managed to keep audiences entertained with its trademark humor and youthful energy.
The much-awaited comedy is now gearing up for its digital release this April. While Netflix, the streaming partner of the first film, is expected to stream the sequel as well, an official confirmation is awaited. Tentative release dates being considered are April 25 or April 28.
Set four years after the events of the first part, Mad Square follows the journey of Ganesh aka “Laddu,” who is now in jail. When six students visit him to understand why he ended up behind bars, Laddu recounts a series of chaotic incidents involving Goa trips, heartbreak, a stolen necklace, and a gangster named Maxx. In the end, a surprising twist reveals one of the boys as an undercover IPS officer who brings down Maxx, but forgets to get Laddu out of jail — leaving the film on a hilarious note.
