According to ACB DSP Y. Ramesh, the accused, Jinugu Nagaraju, demanded a bribe of Rs 65,000 from the complainant, Guguloth Nagaraju. He requested the money to avoid filing a case against Guguloth, who was allegedly using electricity illegally from his uncle’s house for construction work at his site in Karakavagu, Paloncha mandal.
Kothagudem: ACB sleuths trapped an electricity department line inspector and caught him red-handed while accepting bribe from a person at Paloncha town in the district on Wednesday.
According to ACB DSP, Y Ramesh the accused Jinugu Nagaraju demanded Rs 65,000 as bribe from the complainant Guguloth Nagaraju. He demanded the money for not booking a case against the complainant, who was said to have drawn electricity illegally from his uncle”s house for the construction of his house at Karakavagu in Paloncha mandal.
After bargaining the line inspector agreed to accept Rs.26,000 as bribe for not booking a case against the complainant. Before accepting the amount the line inspector changed two locations to evade any possible arrest by ACB, but was finally caught at a market place in the town.
Ramesh said that the bribe amount was seized, line inspector was apprehended and he would be produced before the court for ACB cases.
