The tipper, coming from Sathupalli to Kothagudem with a load of coal, rammed the auto as the driver lost control of the vehicle
Khammam: An auto-rickshaw driver had a narrow escape after a coal tipper rammed the vehicle, crushing it into a mangled heap, in Kothagudem district on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Rudrampur on the Kothagudem-Vijayawada national highway. The tipper, coming from Sathupalli to Kothagudem with a load of coal, rammed the auto as the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The auto driver, Jafar, sustained minor injuries in the incident. Besides the auto, a two-wheeler parked by the side of the road was also damaged in the incident. As coal fell onto the road, traffic flow came to a halt.
In another accident at Pinapaka Bridge area in Wyra mandal in Khammam district, three farm labourers were injured as a tractor trolley overturned after a tyre burst.
As many as 11 labourers of Poddutur village in Konijerla mandal were travelling in the trolley when the incident occurred.
