Labour Department officer arrested for taking Rs 50,000 bribe in Telangana’s Mancherial

Assistant Labour Officer Katam Ram Mohan was caught while accepting bribe from the complaint for processing and forwarding his application to higher authorities for sanction of accidental death claim

Mancherial: An officer of the Labour Department was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant for an official favour here on Friday.

ACB officials said Assistant Labour Officer Katam Ram Mohan was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complaint for processing and forwarding his application to higher authorities for sanction of accidental death claim and funeral charges, at his residence in the town.

Ram Mohan was produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar and was sent to judicial remand.
