Sangareddy: An intermediate student died as lightning struck him at Gangaram village in Kondapur mandal on Thursday evening.
Santosh (17), who was studying in Sangareddy, got down from a bus and took shelter under a tree when heavy rain and thunderstorm struck the area. He died on the spot as lightning struck the tree. The incident left the entire village in shock.
Meanwhile, the district received heavy rains on Thursday, causing devastation. Crops were damaged at several places. Normal life was paralysed as the rain water flooded roads in Sangareddy town at several places.
