London Underground passengers terrified as Met Police officer with machine gun squeezes through carriage hunting down gunman

Avideo of an armed Met Police officer squeezing through a busy Tube carriage has gone viral. The footage has received over 2,000 likes since it was uploaded to TikTok.

The officer can be seen shuffling his way through shocked passengers wielding what looks like a machine gun. Although it is unclear what the officer is doing the caption of the video is “that was a scary day,” which prompted a lot of people to ask what was going on in the comments section.

The original poster, username Trey, clarified that the armed policeman was hunting someone on the Tube that allegedly had a firearm in their bag. Trey said: “Someone had a firearm in the bag, and was running from the police. They were caught.”

He added in another comment about how many armed police were hunting the person, saying: “There were loads, they were blocking the whole front entrance of the station.”

This has not been confirmed by the Met which was contacted by MyLondon to confirm the incident. Although they were unable to give specific details about what happened, the Met did point out that judging by what passengers in the video were wearing, the incident most likely took place in the summer.

The comments on the video seemed to overall be more interested in joking about the event than whatever actually happened. One commenter wrote: “Tickets please….” while another added: “i thought he wanted to see tickets.”

Others also joked: “Getting COD vibes.” While someone else mused: “Off to comic con.” Overall it seems like whatever the reason armed police were there, the incident was handled, but it must have been scary for those involved and certainly not a sight you see every day.
