Maharashtra traders illegally transport paddy into Telangana, 80 quintals of grains seized
According to police, the paddy grains were seized when the driver failed to show relevant documents to transport paddy at an inter-state checkpost
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: As many as 80 quintals of paddy grains were seized for illegally transporting from Maharashtra to Telangana at Gudem village in Chintalamanepalli mandal on Monday.
According to Chintalamanepalli police, the paddy grains were seized when the driver failed to show relevant documents to transport the paddy at an inter-state checkpost. The grains were handed over to officials of the Civil Supplies Department for further action.
It was learnt that some traders were shifting the grains to Telangana to get a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal announced by the government to the farmers. Checkposts were created to prevent illegal transportation of the grains from neighboring States into Telangana.
