Malaika Arora opens up on her divorce with Arbaaz Khan: ‘We have a better equation now’
Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan tied the knot in December 1998 and finalised their divorce after over 18 years of marriage, in May 2017. However, as per Malaika, her relationship with Arbaaz has only gotten better after their divorce. Yes, you read it right.
Malaika, who is currently dating Arjun Kapoor, revealed that her equation with Arbaaz Khan has gotten better after calling it quit. She also opened up about her divorce and said that she has a better relationship with her son and her ex-husband. She also admitted that she is “happy” about the decision to take it for herself.
Speaking with Masala magazine, she said, “We have a better equation now. We are far more mature. We’re just happier, calmer people. He’s a wonderful man, I only wish him the best in life. Sometimes, people are wonderful but they just aren’t great together. That’s just how it is. I would always wish him well.”
“I think I made my choice and I put myself first. And I think by doing that, I am a much better person today. I have a better relationship with my son; he sees that I am much happier. I have a much better relationship with my ex-husband. I’m happy I made these decisions and I stood up for myself. So, for women out there, don’t be scared. Don’t be afraid to follow your heart. Yes, you will ruffle feathers but life is not easy. You can’t make everyone happy.”
For the unversed, Malaika is dating Arjun Kapoor while Arbaaz Khan is in a relationship with Giorgia Andriani. The duo continues to co-parent their 19-year-old son Arhaan Khan.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Malaika was last seen as one of the judges on India’s Best Dancer. Arbaaz, on the other hand, will be next seen in Tanaaz, an Indian adaptation of the Israeli show Fauda.
