Zubair Ahmed impersonated as an executive of Fedex Courier Company and duped a man from the city to the tune of Rs 55 lakh by keeping him under ‘Digital Arrest’
Hyderabad: A 30 year-old suspect in a Fedex courier fraud case was arrested at the airport by the Hyderabad Cybercrime police on Saturday.
Mohammed Zubair Ahmed (30), allegedly was involved in Fedex Courier fraud and officials said he had various bank accounts which were used for fraudulent transactions by his associates in Dubai.
According to the police, in last July, Zubair Ahmed impersonated as an executive of Fedex Courier Company and duped a man from the city to the tune of Rs 55 lakh by keeping him under ‘Digital Arrest’.
Following a complaint from the victim, the Cybercrime Unit booked a case and Zubair was identified. He was detained at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport based on the Look Out Notice issued against him, when he arrived from Dubai.
It was found that they were involved in similar cases across the State.
