Adilabad: A court here on Wednesday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for raping a woman two years ago.
District Principal Court Judge K Prabhakar Rao pronounced the judgement against Gurnule Nagesh, finding him guilty of outraging the modesty of a woman from Bela mandal while she was working in a farm on November 8, 2023. The court cross-questioned 10 eyewitnesses and examined relevant pieces of evidence before delivering the verdict.
The then Sub-Inspector D Radhika registered a case against Nagesh, while Inspectors K Naresh and Sainath conducted investigations. Police officials filed a charge-sheet before the court establishing Nagesh’s offence.
