Khammam: A married woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at Gattaiah centre under the two-town police station limits in Khammam on Thursday.
According to police the deceased, Sai Vani (36) married Gogula Bhasker Nereda in Chintakani mandal in the district a few years ago and the couple had two children. The couple had disputes and were living separately as Bhasker was suspecting her fidelity.
Sai Vani, who works as a nurse at a private hospital in Khammam, takes care of their children as Bhasker was without any work. The accused Bhasker came to his wife’s house last night; had a fight with her and a heated argument broke out between them in the early hours of Thursday.
In a fit of rage Bhasker, who was in a drunken state, grabbed a kitchen knife; slit Saivani’s throat and stabbed her indiscriminately leaving her dead in a pool of blood. He also attacked his fourteen-year-old daughter when she tried to stop him.
The girl suffered multiple bleeding injuries on her neck, hands and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The couple’s eight-year-old son fled the house in fear of his father’s violent act. The locals caught Bhasker, thrashed him and handed him over to the police.
The Khammam two-town CI, Bala Krishna visited the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The violent nature of the murder caused panic among the locals.
