May 10 polls battle between development and divide-and-rule policy: Bommai

“We have effectively handled the Covid situation, and distributed relief of Rs 5 lakh per family that lost their house. About 300 new classrooms are being constructed in my constituency. The BJP government will get an absolute majority and form the next government, he said.

Haveri: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has defined the forthcoming assembly election as a battle between the developmental works of the BJP and the divide-and-rule policy of the Congress party.

Bommai who has won the constituency for BJP thrice- 2008, 2013 and 2018, is now contesting from the constituency for the fourth time. He was in his home constituency Shiggaon in Haveri district on Monday.

“People are voluntarily and enthusiastically campaigning in the constituency.  A festive atmosphere is prevailing in every village. I feel blessed looking at the support and the enthusiasm of the women voters. The strength they gave in the 2018 election was very big. With their blessings, I became an MLA, minister, and also the CM. The May 10 election will be a battle between the development of the BJP and the divide-and-rule policy of the Congress Party. The coalition government had not done anything for the people. The BJP government which came to power later undertook a lot of developmental works,” he asserted.

“We have effectively handled the Covid situation, and distributed relief of Rs 5 lakh per family that lost their house. About 300 new classrooms are being constructed in my constituency. The BJP government will get an absolute majority and form the next government,” he said.

He asked the voters to ensure his victory with a huge margin.

Speaking at the Road Show at Jekinakatte and Mantrodi, the CM said that Congress is using the election for selfish gains.

“They are trying to mislead people and create hatred and anarchy in the society. Development should take place continuously and that is possible only with the BJP. Congress means corruption.  Their corruption ranges from the top to the villages. There is a BJP wave everywhere. It is 100 per cent certain that the BJP would come back to power in the state,” he added.
