The sabhas disrupted at several places across the erstwhile district as villagers raise voices against discrepancies in beneficiaries list
Sangareddy: Grama sabhas organised across erstwhile Medak district drew strong opposition from villagers as they questioned the officials over denial of ration cards and other benefits to them. Officials had to deploy the police to suppress the voice of the people.
The grama sabhas were disrupted at Gummadidala, Bonthapally, Annaram, Anantharam, Kothapally, Pulkal, and Khalilpur in Sangareddy district as villagers raised their voices against discrepancies in the beneficiaries list. Similar scenes were witnessed across Siddipet and Medak districts too. The officials found it difficult to continue the sabha as villagers insisted on answers over government failures. In a few places, BRS and Congress leaders entered into arguments as officials failed to follow the protocol.
Former Minister T Harish Rao said the scenes during the gram sabhas just reflected how Congress was functioning. He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government had failed to keep the promises made during the election campaign and lost the faith of the people.
