Mobile phone thrown at PM during roadshow in Mysuru
PM Narendra Modi waves to the crowd during the roadshow in Mysuru on Sunday for the ensuing Assembly elections.
Bengaluru: In a security breach, a mobile phone was thrown at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his ongoing roadshow for the ensuing Assembly elections in Karnataka. The incident occurred on Sunday in Mysuru when his campaign vehicle was passing through KR Circle when somebody in the crowd threw a mobile phone at Modi. Though the Prime Minister was not hurt, it landed close to him.
It needs to be clarified if the Prime Minister noticed the mobile being thrown at him as he was busy waving to the crowds. However, the security person with Modi in the campaign vehicle noted it.
Before going to print, Deccan Chronicle tried calling Commissioner of Police Mysuru B. Ramesh to know more about the incident, but he did not respond to the calls.
Modi was travelling in his campaign vehicle flanked by BJP leaders K.S. Eshwarappa and Ramdas from Mysore Palace after garlanding the statue of social reformer Basavanna. His vehicle travelled through KR Circle, Sayyaji Rao Road, Ayurveda College, Bamboo Bazar and culminated at LIC Building in Bannimantap, covering a distance of 5 km. Earlier in the day, Modi had campaigned in Kolar, Channapatna, Belur in Hassan before the roadshow in Mysuru.
