Mumtaz Turns 75: Actress Reveals How She Still Feels Like 18
Veteran actress Mumtaz turned 75 on July 31. She celebrated her birthday with her husband, daughters and grandkids. The close-knit celebration was held in Uganda and Mumtaz received an expensive gift from her husband, Mayur Madhvani. She told ETimes, “He has given me practically everything in life. But if you are asking about today’s birthday, he has gifted me the latest model of a Mercedes. Plus, jewellery.”
Mumtaz refuses to believe that she is 75. She claimed that she is still 18 because she feels like it. She said, “I still dance. I still exercise for nearly 90 minutes every day.”

During the interview with ETimes, Mumtaz also recalled how she used to be too busy to even celebrate her birthdays when she was working in the Hindi film industry. She said, “Every time a cake was called and everybody cheered. But I used to be so busy during my entire career that celebrations toh door ki baat (forget about the celebrations), I couldn’t get the time to see some of my films that were released.”
As Mumtaz turned 75, Shatrughan Sinha wished the veteran actress on Twitter. He wrote, “Warm & loving birthday wishes for a very dear family friend, courageous, strong, most bold & beautiful actress, a great lady #Mumtaz. She is the only film personality I remain always obliged to, for her kindness & remember, greet, meet & God Bless her.”
