Mysore Seer visiting CM apolitical, says TTD chief

TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy.

VIJAYAWADA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy refuted media speculations about Mysore-based Seer Vijaykumar Swamy visiting Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter’s home.

Subba Reddy maintained that he had requested the Mysore Seer, whom he knows since 2007, to bless CM Jagan when Vijaykumar Swamy visited Vijayawada. Honouring the request, the Seer visited CM’s house.

The TTD chief said, “I felt if the Chief Minister receives Swamiji’s blessings, the state and people will benefit. In the past, Seers Chinnajeeyar Swamy, Swarupananda Swamy, Seer of Mantralayam Raghavendra Math, apart from Vedic scholars of Tirumala Tirupati, Srisailam and Kanadurgamma devasthanams have blessed the CM.”

He objected to Telugu Desam and its supporting media and channels describing Vijayakumar Swamy’s visit as an attempt at political lobbying. “In fact, the Mysore Swamiji flew in on the plane of Ramoji relative Navayuga Visveswara Rao. Visveswara Rao’s son Sasidhar accompanied Vijayakumar Swamy, Subba Reddy pointed out.

The TTD chief described the Mysore Seer as Swami known to everyone, whose followers include former presidents and current presidents.

Replying to a question on the CBI investigation into the Viveka murder case, Subba Reddy said CBI is only targeting individuals and not investigating the case with an unbiased attitude. “We have complete faith in the judiciary,” he remarked.
