Name not on list, PM’s security asks Aaditya Thackeray to get off father Uddhav’s car
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security on Tuesday asked Maharashra minister Aaditya Thackeray to get out of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s car.
According to sources, the Special Protection Group (SPG) claimed that Aaditya’s name was not on the list of VIPs scheduled to receive PM Modi in Mumbai.
The prime minister and the chief minister will drive to the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), where they will attend the second event together.
Sources also claimed that Uddhav Thackeray was visibly upset with the decision and argued in support of his cabinet minister. The Shiv Sena chief told security personnel that Aaditya was not just his son, but a cabinet minister who could receive PM Modi according to official protocol.
Eventually, Aditya Thackeray was allowed to welcome PM Modi after CM Uddhav’s strong displeasure.
