Negligence won’t be tolerated, says Tejashwi as 80 doctors gets dismissed in Bihar
The Bihar government on Friday dismissed 80 doctors from service for remaining absent from duty without official authorisation for the last five years. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswhi Yadav spoke out on the matter and said, “Negligence in duty will not be tolerated at all.”
He added that the government is also working on taking action against the remaining hundreds of such doctors. He reprimanded the doctors and said they are the form of god and should have served whole heartedly and not remain absent without authorisation.
He also attacked the BJP and said the health department had been under the control of the saffron party for more than five years.
The doctors who have been dismissed from service were posted at civil hospitals, referral hospitals, primary health centres and additional primary health centres in different districts, including Araria, Aurangabad, Banka, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur and Darbhanga.
Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth told news agency PTI that the dismissed doctors were given several opportunities to clear the reason for their absence, but they did not submit their replies. “Government officials cannot remain absent from duty for more than five years in an unauthorised manner,” he added.
