Jagtial: Family members of a newly married woman attacked her in-laws’ house and thrashed the family members in Mallial mandal headquarters on Monday.
According to locals, Nalla Muthu Kumar and Somula Madhavi, who had been in love for some time, got married at Kondagattu temple a week ago.
As the woman’s family opposed the marriage, both families were counselled by the police. However, despite counselling, the woman’s family did not change their stance.
On Monday, they attacked the house of Muthu Kumar and allegedly thrashed his father, women and other family members before forcefully taking Madhavi away by putting her into a car.
Muthu Kumar’s family members lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and shifted the injured persons to Jagtial hospital.
