No, Ajay Devgn DID NOT approach Salman Khan for Bholaa universe. So what happened?
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has been making headlines for his upcoming release – Bholaa, a teaser of which dropped online today. While fans are excited to see Ajay in the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil superhit Kaithi, it is being reported that the actor has approached Salman Khan for the film’s sequel.
SALMAN TO BE A PART OF BHOLAA UNIVERSE?
Recently, the makers of the movie reacted to the rumours. A statement by the makers read, “There are news reports doing rounds in the media about Ajay Devgn approaching Salman Khan for Bholaa sequel.”
“Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn share a great rapport & friendship, however, Ajay has not approached him for the sequel of Bholaa. Currently Ajay Sir is busy with the post production of his directorial Bholaa,” the statement read further.
BHOLAA TEASER OUT NOW
Earlier today, Ajay took to Instagram to drop a teaser of the movie. He captioned the post, “Kaun hai woh… jisko pata hai, woh khud laapata hai #BholaaTeaserOutNow #BholaaIn3D”
The upcoming release will also star Tabu in a key role. In the intriguing teaser, Ajay can be seen playing the role of a prisoner who is waiting to see his daughter.
The original film, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, revolved around a former convict who decides to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison but gets caught in a face-off between police and the drug mafia. The film starred Karthi in the lead role, along with Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, George Maryan and Dheena in pivotal roles.
Interestingly, Bholaa will be Ajay’s fourth outing as a director after U, Me aur Hum (2008), Shivaay (2016) and Runwav 34 (2022). The actor has also been making headlines for his recent release Drishyam 2.
