No evidence of Rs 100 cr kickbacks: AAP leader Atishi’s ‘big disclosure’ in Delhi liquor scam

Delhi Education Minister and AAP leader Atishi made a “big disclosure” on Sunday over an alleged liquor policy scam. Making reference to a Delhi court order on the liquor policy case, Atishi said there was no evidence of the AAP receiving Rs 100 crore in kickbacks and routing to Goa for Assembly elections.

Atishi said there was no evidence of Rs 100 crore in kickbacks, which the BJP has alleged, or even the Rs 30 crore supposedly routed to Goa by AAP for Assembly elections that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) later mentioned in its chargesheet. She added that the CBI and ED have no new evidence in the case.

“For the last 6 months, ED and CBI officials are sitting in Goa and have interrogated and raided all the vendors. Even after six months of raids, those who had alleged a bribe of Rs 100 crore have said in front of the court that the Aam Aadmi Party spent Rs 19 lakh in cash in the Goa elections,” Atishi said.

“In the 86-page order, the judge reiterated only once that the ED had not produced a single piece of evidence,” the AAP leader said.

“ED probe has proved that the Aam Aadmi Party is the most honest party in the country. The Aam Aadmi Party contested the elections in Goa and spent only Rs 19 lakh in cash and the rest in cheques,” Atishi said.

Talking about the allegations against former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Atishi said, “The ED had claimed that Manish Sisodia had smashed 14 phones to destroy evidence. But after checking, it has been found that out of 14 phones, seven phones have been seized by CBI and ED and the remaining 7 phones are being used.”

She added, “When the pressure came from the PMO, the agencies put Sajay Singh’s name. But when Sanjay Singh sent a legal notice, ED apologised and said they put his name by mistake.”

Atishi reiterated that no such scam happened. She said, “One thing that has become clear is that what is being said in the name of a liquor policy scam is completely false and baseless. It is without any evidence. No such scam happened. Even today, the agency has not been able to provide any evidence against Manish Sisodia.”

“The court order said that no concrete evidence has been provided to substantiate any of the allegations and that there are contradictions in the statements made by the agency,” AAP leader Atishi said on Sunday.
