Non-Bailable Warrant Was Issued Against Puneet Issar For Disrobing Draupadi In ‘Mahabharat’
BR Chopra and Ravi Chopra’s cult Hindi-language television series Mahabharat became a sensation after its premiere in 1988. With every passing episode, the drama gained massive popularity.
While the cast of the show got massive love and appreciation from the audience, sometimes, some of them even had to endure difficulties that came up for being involved with the daily soap.
In an earlier episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, actor Puneet Issar, who was seen stepping into the character of Duryodhan in the cult TV serial Mahabharat, shared an interesting trivia linked with the 1988 TV show.

Recalling the incident during Kapil Sharma’s comedy show, the actor said, “Someone told us, ‘Aapke naam ka warrant nikla hai, non-bailable warrant (Someone has filed a case against you in the court, and there’s now a non-bailable warrant issued against you).
Someone from Benares had said that the disrobing of Drapuadi that you did has caused hurt to us.”
While the actor mentioned that many of them were shocked the what had happened, but somehow produced BR Chopra and his son Ravi Chopra, who directed the epic TV drama got the case done with. However, 28 years later there came a big surprise.
Puneet said that they had to hire a lawyer to represent their case and that the person who had filed the case against them only wanted to click pictures with the actors.
“28 yrs later the case had opened again, and we had to hire a lawyer to represent us. Turns out, uss bande ko bas photo khichani thi (That guy who filed the case against us, he only wanted a picture with the actors),” the Mahabharat actor said.
The actor also said that he had thought they should have filed those cases against Ved Vyas, as he was the person who had penned the story in the first place. “Agar kisi ko pakdana hai to Ved Vyas ko pakdo, usne likhi hai,” the actor said.
