Hyderabad: Ahead of the Ramzan month, a coordination meeting of the officials of various government departments and local public representatives was organised at the Mecca Masjid on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Tafseer Iqubal, Special Secretary, Minorities Welfare Department; Yasmeen Basha, Director, Minorities Welfare; Faheem Qureshi, Chairman, TMREIS, and officials of GHMC, HMWS&SB, Power Department, TGSRTC, Wakf Board, and local police.
During the meeting, local MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali brought to the notice of the officials about the requirements at the historic mosque during the Ramzan month. He emphasised on uninterrupted power and water supply, security arrangements and separate arrangements for women who visit the mosque for prayers.
Around 10,000 people visit the Mecca Masjid for ‘taraweeh’ prayers during the first ten days of the month of Ramzan while the figures decrease by a few thousands thereafter.
