Villagers said Nikhil had got addicted to online gaming and lost a huge amount of money
Karimnagar: Online gaming claimed the life of a BSc agriculture student here on Monday. According to the police, Sirikonda Nikhil (22) died by suicide by jumping into an agricultural well in Mannempalli of Thimmapur mandal.
Villagers said Nikhil, who was studying BSc agriculture third year in Hyderabad, had got addicted to online gaming and lost a huge amount of money. He had also borrowed money from others to play online games. Knowing about Nikhil’s debts, his parents reportedly paid Rs 4 lakh and kept him along with them.
On Monday, he left home on the pretext of appearing for exams in Hyderabad but was found dead in an agricultural well in the afternoon.
Police, who registered a case, began investigation. The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem.
