Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) on Wednesday reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its lands and infrastructure.
In a statement, Osmania University Registrar Prof G Naresh Reddy said legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to encroach upon university property or damage its assets.
Condemning the recent demolition of a section of the university’s compound wall at Habsiguda, he said such actions would not be tolerated. Steps were already taken to rebuild the demolished wall, ensuring the university’s boundaries remain secure.
During a site inspection at the affected location, university officials decided to enhance surveillance and security measures in the vicinities including Tarnaka, Habsiguda, and Ramanthapur.
The security wing was instructed to increase patrolling, monitor suspicious activities, and provide regular updates on developments involving private individuals in the vicinity.
“Any action that causes harm to university’s property or reputation will face strict consequences,” Prof Reddy added.
