OTT platform Prime Video to include ‘limited advertisements’

In a press release, the OTT platform said, “Prime video movies and TV shows will include limited advertisements. This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long time.”

Hyderabad: Following the path of other OTT platforms, Prime Video has decided to include ‘limited advertisements’ in order to generate revenue for producing varied content for its subscribers.

In a press release, the OTT platform said, “Prime video movies and TV shows will include limited advertisements. This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long time.”

Meanwhile, Prime users can also opt for a new advertisement-free add-on option by paying an additional Rs.699 per year or Rs. 129 per month.

Besides addition of ads, the platform said that no other changes will be made to any user’s Prime account “There will be no other changes to your Prime membership. Prime members can continue to enjoy a wide range of shopping, savings, and entertainment benefits.”

The playing of ads will be effective from June 17, 2025.
