Pakistan actor Fawad Khan opens up on not working in Indian films anymore, says those who want to collaborate might ‘have to suffer’

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who became popular in India after such films like the 2014 Khoobsurat and 2016’s Kapoor and Sons stopped appearing in Bollywood flicks after a political fallout between India and Pakistan. The actor, whose last appearance in Bollywood was Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, has now said that he is unsure if any filmmaker in India would work with him since it might become problematic for them.

During a recent interaction, when asked if Khan would like to return to Bollywood, the actor, known for his good looks, avoided answering as neither likes confrontation or controversy. During the interaction, he opened up on how he believes people in India will be apprehensive about working with him since “fingers will be pointed at them”.

Speaking to Variety, Khan said, “I think it’s more of a question of whether someone else would like to work with me, instead of me working with others, because fingers will be pointed at them. I’ll do my work and go away but then the people who’ll have to suffer are those who want to collaborate with me. And I care about them because they are going to live there, and they’re going to suffer the consequences.”

The actor added that it would be the same for him when he returns to Pakistan after working in India, stating that he would have to suffer the consequences of what the people of the government are involved would think about it.

The actor however, added that he has made some great friends in the Indian film industry and would like to work with them at some point in time. Fawad revealed, he would love collaborating “for an international platform, a Pakistani platform, or for an Indian platform.”

Fawad Khan was last seen in the Disney Plus Hotstar show Ms Marvel.
