‘Pallaki Utsavam’, ‘Maha Abhishekam’ mark Sri Gaura Purnima at Hare Krishna Golden Temple

Devotees offer ‘Chappan Bhog’ to Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; special performances like dramas, skits, dance and kirtans held
Hyderabad: Sri Gaura Purnima festival marking the transcendental appearance of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was celebrated at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple on Friday.
A special ‘alankara’ of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu adorned the altar followed by darshan for all visitors. Devotees offered 56 varieties of delicious items to the Lord as ‘Chappan Bhog’ including sweets, fruit juices among others.
‘Pallaki Utsavam’ of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai was celebrated followed by ‘Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga Ashtottarasata (108) Kalasha Maha Abhishekam’ in the midst of vedic hymns and mantra chantings followed by a special ‘pravachan’.
Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, president of Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad, said, “As per Vedic revelations, Lord Sri Krishna appeared in this age in the divine form of Gauranga or Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Bengal to inaugurate the Yuga Dharma of congregational chanting of holy names of the Lord.”
Special performances like dramas, skits, traditional dance and kirtans were held by Hare Krishna Youth wing ‘FOLK (Friends of Lord Krishna) and congregation wing GIFTS (Gauranga International Foundation for Spiritual Services).
