PM Modi busy toppling Maharashtra govt amid Assam floods, says Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Assam and announcing a special package amid the flood situation. Gogoi said that PM Modi should visit the state and announce a special package, but he is busy toppling the Maharashtra government and the Gujarat elections.
Gogoi, who is the Deputy Leader of Lok Sabha INC, further said that BJP has gone blind for power and only power is everything for them.
Several MLAs, led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, are camped at a hotel in Assam’s Guwahati, plunging the MVA government into a political crisis. He further said, “The central govt doesn’t care about the Assam situation in Assam. It only cares about toppling the government in Maharashtra and hiding MLAs in Assam.”
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi was quoted by ANI as saying, “If there’s a crisis, it’s that of floods. BJP has gone blind for power. There’re floods in Assam, PM should visit the state, and announce a special package but he’s busy toppling the Maharashtra govt, or in Gujarat elections…The only power is everything for BJP.” (sic)
