PM Modi hands over ‘chadar’ to be offered on Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday handed over a ‘chadar’ which would be offered on the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan.
Taking to his Twitter handle, PM Modi shared an image of him handing over the chadar along with Union ministers.
“Handed over the Chadar which would be offered on the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah,” he tweeted.
The development has come amid heated debate between the ruling government and opposition parties over the controversial documentary by UK-based news outlet BBC holding PM Modi responsible for the 20o2 riots in Gujarat.
The two-part BBC documentary, which claims it investigated certain aspects relating to the 2002 Gujarat riots when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief minister of the state, has been trashed by the Ministry of External Affairs as a “propaganda piece” that lacked objectivity and reflected a “colonial mindset”.
