PM Modi to attend public meeting in Secunderabad on April 8

Hyderabad: The BJP is planning to hold a public meeting on April 8 at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad that will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the city for launching the redevelopment of Secunderabad railway station at a cost of more than Rs 700 crore, Union minister G. Kishan Reddy informed the BJP state executive meeting on Friday evening.
Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister would dedicate several roads and 12 MMTS trains on the day. The Union minister said every effort should be made to ensure Modi’s public meeting will be a success, particularly because this is an election year.
“There is no end to the lies being spread by the BRS and government. These need to be countered effectively,” he told the meeting.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, after the meeting, told reporters that the latest revelations by Sukesh Chandrashekar, an accused in the case being probed by the Directorate of Enforcement connected to the Delhi liquor case, have shown the true nature of ties between BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and the AAP president and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Chugh said Chandrashekar’s revelations have now exposed the ties and involvement of BRS leaders in the liquor scam.
The party, at the meeting, also drew up an action plan for the next six months to gear up for the Assembly elections later this year. Chugh said various activities will take place including statewide celerbations of the party’s foundation day on April 6.
The executive said the BJP demanded the state government provide Rs 50,000 as crop loss compensation for every acre of crop damaged in the recent heavy rains and hailstorms. The party said the Rs 10,000 per acre towards compensation announced by the Chief Minister was not enough to help the affected farmers tide over the crisis they were facing.
The party leaders also said that despite 75 per cent of the announced relief coming from the State Disaster Relief Fund that is given by the Centre, the BRS government was trying to defame the Centre saying it was not coming to the aid of the affected farmers.
State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said the BJP would expose the state government and its failures in the TSPSC question paper leak case, which the party said had put the future of some 30 lakh unemployed at grave risk. Large sums of money changed hands in the question paper leaks. It reiterated that it will continue with its demand for a judicial probe into the case.
