PM Modi visits mother to seek blessings as she turns 100 today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi entered her 100th year today. The PM met his mother to celebrate the occasion at her residence in Gandhinagar.
The PM washed his mother’s feet and sought her blessings. Heeraben Modi lives with the prime minister’s younger brother, Pankaj Modi, at Raysan village on the outskirts of Gandhinagar city. The area falls under the BJP-ruled Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.
“Heeraben Modi was born on June 18, 1923. She will enter the 100th year of her life on June 18, 2022,” said Pankaj Modi.
Meanwhile, a road in Gandhinagar was named for the PM’s mother on Wednesday. “When Heeraben Modi is entering her 100th year, we have decided to name an 80-metre-road in Raysan area as Pujya Hiraba Marg so that the next generation takes inspiration from her life,” Gandhinagar Mayor Hitesh Makwana announced.
PM’S GUJARAT VISIT SCHEDULE
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Gujarat for the second time this month to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 21,000 crores.
After meeting his mother, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Pavagadh Temple in Panchmahal District. Here, the PM will hoist the national flag at the newly constructed temple of Kalika Mata at Pavagadh.
Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be heading to Vadodara for ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’. PM Modi will give a speech in Vadodara where over 2 lakh people are expected to be present. PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 21,000 crores, which also includes projects for railways worth Rs 16,000 crore. The other projects include Bhumi Pujan of the new campus of Gujarat Central University and several other water projects. The government has allotted over 100 acres of land for the university.
PM Modi will also dedicate water distribution projects to the people. Besides, six sewage treatment plants in Kheda, Mahemdavad, Kanjari, Borsad, Umrerth and Karjan will be inaugurated by PM Modi.
Among other initiatives, the PM will launch ‘Mukhyamantri Matrushakti Yojana’ with a focus on improving maternal and child healthcare. It will have an outlay of Rs 800 crore. Under the scheme, pregnant and lactating mothers will be given 2 kg of chickpeas, 1 kg of tur dal and 1 kg of edible oil free of cost from Anganwadi centres every month.
The PM will also disburse around Rs 120 crore towards ‘Poshan Sudha Yojana’, which is now being extended to all tribal beneficiaries in the state, the PMO said.
