Qatar are going to pay English and Welsh fans to attend the World Cup games

English and Welsh fans will be gearing up for a huge clash in the group stages of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with both UK countries drawn against each other.

For a group of lucky fans from each nation, they’ll be paid to go and watch the tournament by the World Cup organisers, aiming to improve the view of the tournament.

I know what you’re thinking, where do I sign up? Well there’s a catch, of course, with certain tasks given to the supporters that decide to take up the offer of being paid to attend the World Cup in the Middle East.

Qatar 2022 World Cup issues

Qatar’s World Cup has been thrown into the limelight for a host of reasons, in the main the human rights problems in the country being a major sticking point for many after the tournament was given to the nation.

Jamie Carragher has also slammed the tournament given the timing of it, splitting up the regular season given the climate meaning the traditional summer months a World Cup normally takes place. More and more players are looking set to miss the tournament through injury.

All in all, the tournament has been slammed by almost everyone for the above reasons, so the organisers are looking to do all they can to improve the image of the tournament.

Qatar World Cup to pay fans to attend

The organisers of the World Cup are going to pay for a group of fans from both England and Wales to attend the tournament, including free flights, tickets, accommodation and £60 a day to spend, sounds like a win win all round right?

Well in return, the 40 supporters from each country will be required to chant on command and post positive updates on social media from the tournament. They’ll sit together at the games and wave flags for TV cameras. But it doesn’t end there, the supporters will also have to report any derogatory or negative comments about the tournament.

Supporters that take up the offer will be held to their promises, having to sign a code of conduct before they fly to the country and attend the opening ceremony on top of the football games. Know anyone that would be happy with this trade? Well the perfect festive period could be here for 40 fans.
