“Rahul Gandhi is the true force behind the demolition of homes in Hyderabad, bulldozing the houses of the poor,” he remarked during an informal media interaction at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a broadside against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that the latter was allowing the demolition of houses for the Musi Riverfront Development Project, in exchange for moneybags. He said the Congress leader gave his approval for the project not for public welfare but for financial gain.
“Rahul Gandhi is the real force behind the demolition of homes in Hyderabad, driving a bulldozer over the houses of the poor,” he said in an informal interaction with the media at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.
He said the project was being implemented under the guise of “beautification,” but its real motive was what he called “Musi lootification.”
The BRS working president stated that while Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was the face of the project, it was Rahul Gandhi who was running the show.
“Rahul Gandhi, who promised to come whenever anyone from Telangana called, is nowhere to be found while the poor are suffering,” he remarked, adding that the Congress leadership was only interested in money bags, but not public welfare.
Rama Rao questioned the Congress leadership’s motives, reiterating that the project was designed for financial gain rather than public service. He vowed to expose the involvement of the Congress leadership in corrupt practices soon. He said he was also aware of the contractor to whom the Congress plans to award the mutli-crore Musi Riverfront Development Project.
