The patient had been suffering from abdominal distension, breathlessness, loss of appetite, and weight loss for the past four months. A medical team led by Dr. U. Azad Chandrashekhar, Medical Director and Senior Surgical Oncologist, performed the complex HIPEC surgery, which combined cytoreductive surgery with heated chemotherapy directly administered to the abdomen, according to a press release.
