Hyderabad: Teams of Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections at two restaurants Kishkinda Kitchen (Kake di Hatti) and Poshnosh Lounge and Bar, at Road number 3, Jubilee Hills and detected multiple violations under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
At Kishkinda Kitchen, live cockroach infestation was detected in the kitchen and rat faeces in the storage suggesting rodent infestation. Expired food items were found and discarded.
The food handlers were found without gloves and water analysis reports, Fostac (food safety and training certificates) issued by FSSAI and medical reports of the employees were also not found, the inspecting teams reported.
“Refrigerators were littered with food waste and not cleaned properly. The drains in the kitchen were found to be clogged with food waste. Semi prepared food articles and raw materials, food and non-food items were found to be stored together,” Food Safety Commissioner said.
At Poshnosh Lounge and Bar, the inspecting teams found the facility was operating with an expired license since December, 2024. Water analysis reports, pest control records, Fostac certificates and medical records of employees were not provided and refrigerators were not defrosted and cleaned. The kitchen floor was not equipped with drains to remove food waste.
The vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were stored together and many food articles were stored on ground. Expired food items were found and discarded and loose split cashew was found to be infested with insects, the inspecting teams said.
