Redmi A5 launched in India with Android 15, 120Hz display, and 32MP camera starting at Rs 6,499

The Redmi A5 offers a compelling feature set for budget-conscious users, including a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. It is IP52-rated for splash and dust resistance and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for added convenience.

Hyderabad: Xiaomi has officially unveiled Redmi A5 an entry-level smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 6,499 for the 3GB+64GB variant and Rs 7,499 for the 4GB+128GB model, the phone goes on sale today through Flipkart, Mi.com, and retail stores.

Redmi A5 provides a good feature set at such low cost. The phone cures a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a smooth refreshing rate of 120Hz and peak brightness as high as 600 nits. IP52-rated for splash and dust resistance has also incorporated side-mounted fingerprint scanner convenience with it.

The device runs on the latest Android 15 operating system with Xiaomi’s HyperOS skin. It is powered by the Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor. Xiaomi has promised to provide two years Android updates and four years security patches. Users also have expandable storage of up to 2TB via microSD support.

Coming to photography, the Redmi A5 offers a dual 32MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera, both of which are good for selfies and video calls. A 5,200 mAh battery powers the phone, which supports 15W fast charging through USB Type-C and easily lasts all day.

Now available in Pondicherry Blue, Lake Green, and Just Black, the Redmi A5 brings the modern specifications of solid build quality at a suitable price to create a strong match for entry-level markets within smartphones.
