Revealed! Here’s the staggering amount Team India received despite losing semi-final of 2022 T20 World Cup

Team India’s journey in the 2022 T20 World Cup ended after a one-sided defeat at the hands of England in the second semi-final. Asked to bat first, Team India put on a total of 168 on the board. England’s openers, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales were right on the money in the chase and they remained unbeaten. Buttler scored 80 off 49 while Hales smashed 86 off 47.

For India, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya scored half-centuries. Kohli started his innings cautiously and finished at a score of 50 off 40. Pandya, who also took his time in the middle, upped the ante in the death over and hit 63 off 33 before being dismissed on the final delivery.

Despite the Men in Blue’s journey coming to an end in the semi-final, they received a staggering amount of money. Before the semi-final, the ICC announced the cash prize money which the teams will receive.

The 2 teams losing in the semi-final were entitled to receive a cash prize of $4,00,000 (Rs 3,22,19,260). New Zealand also received the same amount from the apex board.

The winner of the 2022 T20 World Cup will receive a sum of $16,00,000 (Rs 12,88,77,040) while the losing side will go home with a cheque of $8,00,000 (Rs 6,44,38,520).

Pakistan and England will square off in the final of the 8th edition T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday (November 13). One of these two teams will go home with a cheque of Rs 12,88,77,040.

There are high chances of rain on Sunday and it could play a spoilsport. There is a reserve day in place but here there 94% chance of rain on Monday (November 14) as well. England and Pakistan squared off in the final of the 1992 World Cup at the same venue.
