Sachin Tendulkar delighted to see cricket in Commonwealth Games 2022, Marnus Labuschagne responds

Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar was over the moon after cricket made its return in the Commonwealth Games. The Indian Women’s cricket team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, is currently taking part in the mega event. India are currently playing their first match of the series against Meg Lanning’s Australia at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Prior to the start of the match, Tendulkar wished Kaur and Co. ahead of their campaign in the championship. The Master Blaster reckoned that cricket could benefit a lot and reach out to a larger set of audiences.

Tendulkar took to Twitter and wrote, “Wonderful to see cricket back in the Commonwealth Games. Hope this takes our beautiful game to newer audiences. Best wishes to @BCCIWomen’s team for their #CWG22 campaign.”

After Sachin spoke in favour of cricket at CWG, young Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne agreed with the legend. He also hoped for India’s match against Australia to be an absolute cracker.

Labuschagne replied to Sachin and wrote, “Agreed Sachin. Aus v India is going to be an amazing opener too.”

As far as the match is concerned, India scored 154 for the loss of eight wickets. Shafali Verma injected momentum into the innings with a 48-run knock before getting out to left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen.

Jonassen was the pick of the bowlers for the Aussies with four scalps to his name. Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored for India with 52 runs before getting out to Megan Schutt, who picked up two wickets in the death overs.

India made a decent start before a flurry of wickets in the second half of their innings pushed them back.
