‘She Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving’, Urvashi Rautela Trolled For Plagiarising Her TEDx Talk

Model and actor Urvashi Rautela manages to make headlines for some very unique reasons. Recently, she was a topic of discussion for her rows of cryptic posts about cricketer Rishabh Pant. She lately over-fueled the controversy between her and Rishabh. She is now back at it again and this time for plagiarising her recently aired TED Talk.

What does the controversy entail?

It is alleged that Miss Universe 2022 judge Urvashi has seemingly plagiarised all the major parts of her speech from earlier spoken speeches. Her TEDx video dropped earlier this month, and netizens have dug all holes around. Reportedly, Urvashi’s speech includes portions from speeches delivered by Isabel Allende, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Dan Pink, Brené Brown, and others in her speech.

It is alleged that she seems to have searched for listicles about the most popular ones and copied the content as it is from those. She avoided stating that the phrases were not her own and, at one point, also used the pronoun “I” intentionally to indicate that she had created one of her talking points. See the netizens react:

This is not the first time Urvashi has been accused of copying.

In 2021, Urvashi Rautela was accused of copying Spider-Man: No Way Home actress Zendaya‘s caption for her Insta post. It read, “My heart is just overflowing with love and gratitude. I’m so incredibly honored & speechless to work beside the talented people that I get to call family. I’m so proud of all of you. Thank you to everyone out there for all your love for Hindi remake of #ThiruttuPayale2 #setlife #actorlife”

In 2019, Urvashi Rautela was observed having coffee with Chunky Panday’s nephew, Ahaan Panday which speculated their dating rumors. Later, Rautela posted a detailed response to the allegations which was alleged to be plagiarised from the entire statement from supermodel Gigi Hadid, who had written it in response to criticism directed at the media for faking her relationship with singer Zayn Malik.

In another incident, Urvashi was found copy-pasting tweets from others and trying to pass them off as her own. “I’m rooting for her,” journalist John Paul Brammer tweeted after people pointed out to him that Urvashi had copied his comments about the film Parasite.
