Following a complaint filed by a customer Ambadipally Bhaskar, the Two-Town police led by B Upendar launched an investigation and found that the accused, Chepuri Ravi Kumar, had allegedly cheated many of his customers in the same way.
Siddipet: A goldsmith was arrested on charges of cheating his customers in the name of selling the gold at less than the market price.
Following a complaint filed by a customer Ambadipally Bhaskar, the Two-Town police led by B Upendar launched an investigation and found that the accused, Chepuri Ravi Kumar, had allegedly cheated many of his customers in the same way. The Inspector said Ravi collected Rs.90 lakh while Bhaskar alone had given Rs.9 lakh. Despite repeated requests for repayment, Upendar said that the goldsmith continued to delay the payment.
The accused was arrested from his shop at Mahashakthi Nagar on Tuesday and produced before court. Further investigation is on.
