‘Single’ trailer controversy: Sree Vishnu apologises to Vishnu Manchu for using Kannappa’s dialogue

Hyderabad: The trailer of actor Sree Vishnu’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Single‘ which released yesterday, has landed itself in controversy.
The dialogues in the trailer had become a huge hit, however, the imitation of ‘Sivayya’ dialogue from Vishnu Manchu‘s Kannappa movie did not go well with the makers.
Following the controversy, the makers of the film released a video issuing an apology to the Kannappa team.
“We had no intentions to hurt anybody. We have incorporated several memes and trends that are ruling social media. The dialogues were written in a playful and light-hearted manner in an attempt to use popular references of famous Tollywood films,” clarified Sree Vishnu.
The actor further said that the dialogue has been removed from the film. “We in Tollywood are one family and have deep respect for each other. We don’t want to consciously hurt anybody,” the actor added.
Directed by Caarthick Raju, the film features Ketika Sharma and Ivana in lead roles. The film is said to hit theatres on May 9.
