Sircilla woman gives birth to quadruplets
WARANGAL: A native of Samudra Lingapur village in Gambhiraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district gave birth to quadruplets – three males and a female at a private hospital in Mustabad mandal on Tuesday.
This is the second delivery for Gottumukkala Lavanya, who has a nine-year-old son. She first delivered a male child, then a female baby, followed by two male kids.
Doctors say such deliveries are one in 10 lakh members.
Lavanya had been eight months pregnant when she fell ill. Doctors diagnosed her and realised the possibility of premature delivery. In view of her ill health and the safety of newborns, they decided to conduct a caesarean.
Both the mother and four kids are doing well. All the babies are more than a kilogram in weight.
As the mother and children need to be under better observation, they have been shifted to the government hospital in Siddipet.
