Smashing Success Of ‘Pathaan’ Proves People’s Love For Shah Rukh Khan And Cinema Will Always Win Over Hate
Love above all else.’
The success of Pathaan proves that love for cinema will always transcend every boundary and obstacle. According to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, no response is more thunderous than success.
When that success is as resounding as that of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, the message is loud and clear: that manufactured hate can’t stand in front of people’s love for one another.
The box office success of this Shah Rukh Khan movie set a record for being the quickest Hindi film to cross the Rs. 250 crore mark, and it has now surpassed the Rs. 500 crore benchmark.
Director Anurag Kashyap has enthusiastically praised Pathaan ever since its release. He also heaped praises on actor Shah rukh Khan. According to Pathaan director Anurag Kashyap, the film’s success is significant because it “exposed the desperation with which these trolls were at.”
Kashyap claimed that naysayers have “become completely naked” in their quest to sabotage the film’s triumph, even though it has proved to be a global blockbuster. Talking to Indian Express, Kashyap said,
“They are so desperate, trying to say all kinds of things like, ‘Don’t watch, this has misinformation,’ but you know what, they are all naked now. It is clear now more than ever that the ones who run the agenda are not people; it is invested in right-wing trolls. People came out with love, and a lot of it. But they want to create this misinformation. It is just manufactured.“
Kashyap added,
“The success of Pathaan is not just important, but it has exposed the desperation with which these trolls were at it. Even after all the numbers, some people are at it, trying to find a reason to run it down. They have become completely naked,”
The hit-starved Hindi cinema industry is in a celebratory mood thanks to “Pathaan,” which has received fantastic reviews on its first day and has videos of ecstatic fans dancing to songs and whistling loudly as their favorite star made the entry.
Pathaan’s seventh-day box office earnings made it the fastest Hindi film to break the 300 crore mark since the Hindi version of Baahubali 2 and the biggest first-week profits in the history of Hindi cinema.
Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia, earned Rs 634 million worldwide in just seven days. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film was released on January 25.
