Soaked to the bone but spirit not dampened: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Mysuru

Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, is an attempt by the party to galvanise and unite the party workers. And scenes from Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Mysuru leg show the efforts seem to have paid off. Amid heavy downpour in Karnataka’s Mysuru, Rahul Gandhi delivered his address, while the party workers braved the inclement weather to support their leader.

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted a video of the incident, taking it as an opportunity to claim that no force can stop the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“On the evening of Gandhi Jayanti, undeterred by a downpour in Mysuru, Rahul Gandhi electrified a sea of people. It was an unequivocal declaration. No force can stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra from uniting India against hate, from speaking up against unemployment and price rise,” Jairam Ramesh tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi also shared the video with the caption, “No one can stop us from uniting India. No one can stop us from raising the voice of India. No one can stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra from going from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.”

Rahul Gandhi was flanked by Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar, senior leader Siddaramaiah, general secretary in-charge KC Venugopal and others on stage.

The yatra, kickstarted on September 7 from Kanyakumari, has continued to be the Congress’s top focus.

The party has released several images and clips from the yatra, showing Rahul Gandhi interacting with young and old supporters alike.
